WPA 2008 Conference Registration (Graduate Students)

“Writing Program Administration and/as Learning”

July 10-13, 2008

WPA President and Program Chair Joe Janangelo has focused this year’s theme on WPAs as learners, as teachers, and as learned contributors to students’ lives, to knowledge, and to higher education. In addition to invigorating concurrent sessions, meals, and breaks, the program features three keynote speakers:

Andrea Lunsford, Louise Hewlett Nixon Professor of English and Director of the Program in Writing and Rhetoric, Stanford University

Shirley K Rose, Professor of English at Purdue University and Immediate Past President of WPA

Susan Thomas, Director of Teaching Development for Arts and Social Sciences, University of Sydney

Everything will take place in thriving downtown Denver, near the bustle of Larimer Square, Writer's Square, the 16th Street Mall, and trendy Lodo. It will almost certainly be sunny and dry (as it is here 300 days a year) in the mid 80's by day, the 50's by night. We'll plan a social outing (likely to the mountains), and we'll offer a surfeit of cultural, sports, and entertainment opportunities. Families and partners will enjoy the trip, too. Your host will be the University of Denver Writing Program.
