Associate Professor, Composition and Rhetoric Department of English and Film Studies, Faculty of Arts
The Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta invites applications from outstanding candidates for a senior faculty position (Associate Professor with tenure) in the field of Composition and Rhetoric, specializing in writing pedagogy and in writing centre research, theory, and practice. Intensive experience or training in teaching writing to students for whom English is an additional language (EAL) would be an asset. Commencing 1 July 2007, the successful applicant will be expected to teach at all levels of the curriculum, from first-year to graduate level courses, but on a reduced teaching load, in order to play a significant role in the development of writing studies at the university and a proposed new university-wide writing centre; duties will also include training and supervising peer tutors.
