General Summary:
The University Center for Writing-based Learning at DePaul invites applications for a staff director. The successful applicant will report to an AVP/Academic Affairs; responsibilities include supervision and coordination of two full-time assistant directors in the continuing development of a university-wide writing initiative characterized by writing intensive courses in the disciplines and liberal studies; an emerging electronic portfolio project; and a large, multi-campus writing center. Signifiant experience in writing program administration highly desireable.
Assistant Director of the University Center for Writing-Based Learning
The new University Center for Writing-based Learning at DePaul invites applications for a full-time (12-month) position as one of two Assistant Directors The successful applicant will support the Director in the development, implementation, and maintenance of writing initiatives and resources (including training materials, assignments, and classroom activities) for the Liberal Studies Program and major schools and programs across the university. Successful, independent delivery of writing workshops and one-to-one consultation with faculty from across the university expected, as well as co-supervision of graduate students involved in the Center’s Graduate Assistant Liaison Program. The Assistant Director for Faculty Development will teach three courses per year (one per quarter) in the First-Year Writing program.
