The Department of English at Florida International University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Rhetoric and Composition to begin Fall 2008, pending budgetary approval. We seek a candidate with a strong foundation in writing studies, with preference given to those with scholarly and teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: international/multi-cultural rhetorics, cross-cultural communication, second-language writing, literacy studies, and professional writing. Ph.D. in rhetoric/composition or related field is required by fall 2008.
Position Announcement: The English department at Florida International University is hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric/Composition, with a secondary field in the long 18th c. Primary expertise must be in rhetoric and composition. Desired areas of interest include, but are not limited to, ethnic rhetorics, global Englishes, professional writing, and new media. Teaching will include undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in rhetoric/composition and, secondarily, in the long 18th century.
