Director of the Deborah S. Ellis Writing Center at Southwestern University

Southwestern University invites applications for the position of Director of the Deborah S. Ellis Writing Center (DEWC).  This is a 10-month, full-time staff position and is eligible for the University’s benefit programs.  Reporting to the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, the position provides leadership and is responsible for all operations of the DEWC and for supporting writing in the disciplines. The DEWC is an undergraduate-staffed writing center where peer tutors work with students on all levels, in all disciplines, and at all points in the writing process.

Bellevue College is located about 10 miles east of downtown Seattle.

The Department of English at Lindenwood University invites applications for an assistant professor of rhetoric and composition. Teaching responsibilities include first-year and basic writing, as well as opportunities for teaching current and developing new upper-division rhetoric and composition courses for the new writing and professional communication minor program. Other courses possible, depending on the needs of the department. WAC/WID experience beneficial. Teaching course load is 4-4.

Instructor or Lecturer in Technical Communication at the University of Central Florida

The Department of English is seeking to hire a nine-month, non-tenure earning instructor or lecturer of Technical Communication. The position entails a 4/4 teaching load of both face-to-face and online courses. It is anticipated to begin in August 2016, pending the availability of funding.

FT instructor currently teaches six sections of composition and literature courses (Fall semester), five (Spring semester) and others as needed.  Advises students.  Serves on College and/or department committees.  Engages in professional development.  Keeps office hours.  Submits reports of instructional activity.  Participates in the collection and analysis of data pertaining to student learning outcomes and competencies.  Is able to use online platforms to enhance teaching and learning.  May be required to teach classes at multiple campus and off-campus sites, including high schools.
