Director, Campus Writing Program, University of Missouri-Columbia

The University of Missouri-Columbia seeks a Director for its twenty-two year old Campus Writing Program (CWP). Candidates should qualify for an appointment as a tenured member of the faculty with demonstrated success administrating a writing program, teaching, and advancing scholarship. Director, University Center for Writing-Based Learning, DePaul University

The University Center for Writing-based Learning at DePaul invites applications for a staff director. The successful applicant will report to an AVP/Academic Affairs; responsibilities include supervision and coordination of two full-time assistant directors in the continuing development of a university-wide writing initiative characterized by writing intensive courses in the disciplines and liberal studies; an emerging electronic portfolio project; and a large, multi-campus writing center. Signifiant experience in writing program administration highly desireable.


Assistant Professor, Rhetoric and Composition, Florida International University

The Department of English at Florida International University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Rhetoric and Composition to begin Fall 2008, pending budgetary approval. The successful candidate will teach business writing, professional/technical writing, and first-year composition; will develop and teach courses for our proposed major in Rhetoric and Writing; and will pursue an active research agenda. Assistant Professor of Composition (2 positions), Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN

Metropolitan State University invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in the Communication, Writing and the Arts Department to begin fall 2008. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in composition and nonfiction writing, advising students, and contributing to new curriculum development in composition. Participation in faculty governance and active involvement in research and professional activities are expected. These positions offer a reduced teaching load in return for coordinating the introductory composition courses.
