Two Full-Time Lecturers in University Writing

The University Writing Program at Brandeis University invites applications for two full-time lecturers, beginning Fall 2020. We seek experienced instructors with backgrounds in professional writing, including writing for business and science writing. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching as well as experience in the teaching of writing. A PhD is preferred; an MA will also be considered. Industry and/or professional experience involving technical communication, business writing, medical writing, and/or science writing is desired. The position is full-time, benefits-eligible, and outside the tenure structure. The initial appointment could be up to three years, with the possibility of renewal.

The successful candidates will be innovative instructors responsible for teaching three first-year, topic-based writing seminars per semester. They will develop topics for these courses with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity to serve better our students with an interest in the sciences and social sciences. In addition, we seek dynamic educators who wish to play an active role in shaping the future of the Writing Program and in working with the broader University community.
