Dickinson State University, a university with record enrollment increases for thirteen consecutive years, invites applications for the position of Director of University Relations. The Director reports to the President, serves on the President’s Cabinet, and is the chief communication officer for the University. The Director designs, communicates and directs a comprehensive marketing and public relations program; develops and executes marketing plans for specific projects; supervises the activities related to the University web site, the University cable access television channel, and the University News Bureau; advises the President on issues related to public affairs and campus communications; oversees campus publications and printing projects; works with the Foundation staff on communications associated with fundraising; and will oversee the development of a plan to archive existing DSU historical documents.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a consistent commitment to excellence and the ability to interact with the full range of constituents. He/she must be energetic, entrepreneurial, creative, and willing to serve as one of the leaders in support of the university’s strategic enrollment plan. Exemplary communication, planning, marketing, and leadership skills are essential. A master’s degree and 3-5 years of increasing and related professional responsibility are required. The Director is expected to share the responsibilities of weekend and evening event coverage. The salary is very competitive with a comprehensive benefit package, including full family coverage health insurance and TIAA-CREF retirement.
