Postdoctoral Scholar/Assistant Director of the Division of Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Media, Department of English, University of Kentucky

This appointment, to begin on or before 1 August 2010, is a three-year, non-renewable position with three-fold responsibilities: research, teaching, and Writing Program administration. A competitive salary includes benefits and travel funds. A record of successful college-level teaching and a Ph.D. in rhetoric and composition or a related field required by time of appointment; experience in TA supervision and/or writing program administration is desirable. The Assistant Director has a 1-1 teaching load and works closely with a faculty mentor on his or her own research or creative project while helping to supervise teaching assistants and part-time instructors and to develop mentor programs and in-service workshops. The Assistant Director will also contribute to the development of two new first-year courses that integrate instruction in oral, written, visual, and digital communication.
