Visiting Fellows in First-Year Writing, Department of Writing & Linguistics, Georgia Southern University
The Department of Writing & Linguistics is seeking to fill several full-time, non-tenure-line positions in First-Year Writing. Our Visiting Fellows teach 15 credits per semester. We offer a one-year contract, with possible reappointment for up to three years, and health benefits.
The Visiting Fellows position is designed for recent PhDs, MFAs, or ABDs planning to seek permanent positions elsewhere. A typical hire is a recent graduate that needs an interesting and supportive place to work while he or she looks for a tenure-track job elsewhere. In order to help our Visiting Fellows in their continuing job searches, we provide mentoring, travel support, and annual teaching reviews. Applicants are encouraged to review the department website for details about our faculty and curriculum.
Application screening begins April 15. Appointments begin August 15. Send cover letter and CV to Dr. Randall McClure via email at email@example.com.
