Assistant Professor in Writing, Rhetoric, & Discourse

The Department of Writing, Rhetoric, & Discourse invites applications for a tenure-track position in professional and technical writing at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting in September 2011. We are particularly interested in candidates with research and pedagogical interests in new media. The ideal candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in professional and technical writing, and contribute to an innovative graduate program in New Media Studies and an undergraduate major in Writing, Rhetoric, & Discourse. To support a growing department and reflect the current state of the discipline, the successful candidate will also have opportunities to develop new courses in their areas of expertise. Applicants must have the PhD in rhetoric and composition, technical and professional communication, or an appropriately related field in hand by July 1, 2011, demonstrated expertise in teaching, and an active scholarly agenda.
