Assistant Professor in Writing: Professional and Creative Writing

The Position: The Department of Writing invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to teach both professional writing and creative writing. Teaching load is 4/4 (12 hours per semester). The successful candidate must have experience in digital media, creative nonfiction, and teaching college writing.  Related experience will also be considered. Duties include primarily teaching courses for the Professional Writing track and Creative Writing major with the possibility of teaching first-year writing courses during the year depending on qualifications and department need.  Position begins August 16, 2015.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience teaching Professional Writing and Creative Writing courses and a terminal degree in Creative Writing, Professional/Technical Writing, Rhetoric and Composition, Digital Rhetorics, or closely related field. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent software and experience in teaching First-Year Writing preferred.  Experience in Illustrated Narrative also preferred.
