Visiting Assistant Professor of English (214UC9867)

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for one Visiting Assistant Professor of English beginning August 15, 2015 with the possibility of a final year of renewal for the 2016-2017 academic year. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees, with an enrollment of approximately 5,900 students. We are seeking candidates to teach a combination of four writing classes per semester, including developmental, first-year, and intermediate composition. This position requires outstanding teaching. We also encourage participation in program assessment and curriculum development; department service; and professional and scholarly activities. Candidates must possess training in English and/or rhetoric and composition with at least three years of relevant college teaching experience in developmental and/or first-year composition.  


Position Qualification: The department seeks a person with a doctorate in Composition and Rhetoric or English. ABD candidates making significant progress toward the terminal degree will be considered. Candidates must possess at least three years of college teaching experience in developmental or first-year composition.  


Ideal Qualifications: A doctorate in English or Rhetoric and Composition is preferred. Experience working with a diverse population of open-admissions undergraduates is preferred.
