WPA-GO initiatives are coordinated by several Graduate Committee subcommittees as described below. We are hoping you'll join us in Summer 2017! (look for applications in August 2017)

The CCCC Planning Committee sets the Portland Social and helps the GO plan its other events there. Activity peaks in early spring.

The Diversity & Outreach Committee advises all other committees and task forces on events, policies, and practices that serve to be inclusive of demographic, institutional, and intellectual differences. Task Forces are commissioned ad hoc as necessary for special projects and specific objectives.

The Census Task Force: Graduate Program Data Collection is new for 2016-2017 and plans to collect, analyze, and share data about working conditions of Graduate Student Instructors (GSI) in U.S. writing programs. The end project will allow for GSI's and Writing Program Administrators (WPA) to learn about the national trends regarding GSI compensation, benefits, and other working conditions. By making this data available to WPA's and GSI’s, we aim to encourage conversations—nationally and locally—about the working conditions of GSI’s. Activity spread throughout the year.
