Visiting Lecturer Position in First-Year Writing

 

Position Description: The Writing Department at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Visiting Lecturer position for the 2015-2016 academic year. This one-year position will begin August 16, 2015 with potential renewal for up to two additional years. Teaching load is 4/4 in the First-Year Writing program with the possibility of collaboration with UCA’s Residential College and/or University College.

 

Minimum qualifications: MA or PhD in Rhetoric and Composition or a closely related field. Previous experience teaching college writing and evidence of excellence in teaching required.  Candidates must be willing to participate in local, regional, and/or national professional development and have a genuine interest in general education instruction, assessment, and program initiatives.  Preferred applicants will have experience with multimodal writing, co-requisite courses, and/or working in a learning community and have a clear research agenda.
