Assistant Professor of Writing, Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, NJ

The Division of Humanities at Bloomfield College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Writing position, to begin in August 2017. The division seeks a dynamic faculty member with a passion for undergraduate education. The normal teaching load is three courses per semester, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach most of his/her courses in the first-year writing program. There will also be regular opportunities to teach upper-level writing courses based on departmental needs and the candidate’s areas of interest.


Candidates should have earned a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field; ABD considered. Teaching excellence is the first priority at Bloomfield College, so candidates should have a strong record of teaching first-year composition. As a federally recognized Minority Serving Institution, we also highly value experience teaching students of color and first-generation students.
