Teaching Assistant Professor in EAP
The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program at The George Washington University (https://eap.columbian.gwu.edu/) invites applications for a non-tenure Teaching Assistant Professor position (3-year contract with the possibility of renewal), beginning as early as July 1, 2018.
Basic Qualifications: A doctoral degree or ABD in a relevant field (such as Teaching English as a Second Language, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Composition-Rhetoric/Writing Studies, or a closely related field) with all requirements for the doctorate completed by date of appointment; specialized experience teaching second language writing in a higher educational context; and evidence of excellence in teaching, as demonstrated by evaluations, peer reviews, etc. Successful candidates are expected have an understanding of current research that informs pedagogical best practices and an active presence in the field.
Responsibilities: The faculty member will be expected to teach all levels of EAP, assist in program administration and instructional coordination, as well as develop new courses and programs in a rapidly growing EAP program. Academic rank will be Teaching Assistant Professor, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
