We are asking members of CWPA to develop and design two different ways to spread the word:

1. An Elevator Pitch: A two-minute speech to explain the Framework and to induce someone to find out more about it.
2. A Bumper Sticker sending a message that the viewer should find out more about the Framework.

The WPA Fund for the Support of Minority Writing Program Administrators Summer Workshop Grants Deadline: April 15, 2010

Purpose

The WPA Fund for the Support of Minority Writing Program Administrators provides financial support to writing program administrators who are members of underrepresented minorities to attend the WPA Summer Workshop. These groups include African Americans, Asian Americans, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans and other Latino and Latina Americans, and Native Americans.

It’s the new year and the new term, a time when some take the opportunity to make and act on resolutions. It might be, in fact, that CWPA can help with some of our members’ resolutions with some fabulous opportunities. Maybe you’ve decided to:

The WPA Annual Conference in Your Backyard!

The WPA Executive Board is soliciting proposals to host the WPA Summer Conference, Workshops, and Institutes in 2010 and 2011.

As regular WPA attendees know, the WPA Summer Conference, Workshop and Institutes are sponsored by one or more institutions and hosted by local WPAs, members of the Executive Board, and the WPA at large. This is a terrific opportunity to be active in WPA, to build working relationships with WPAs in your area and to showcase your academic institution and home area.

I'm pleased to announce that the WPA Executive Board has authorized a special registration fee of $175 for graduate students attending the 2007 WPA Summer Conference in Tempe.

Currently, the special fee is available by mail-in registration using the form attached at the bottom of this node: http://wpacouncil.org/conference2007. We hope to make the special registration fee available for online registration and payment sometime in the next few days.
