CWPA Culture Assessment and Participants Listening Sessions
One Eight Create (OEC) has been conducting Culture Assessment of CWPA operation model with focus on centering the organization’s work, documents, and procedures on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

OEC will present the results of CWPA Culture Assessment.

OEC will offer two listening sessions that all conference participants can attend. These sessions won’t be attended by any of CWPA officers or Executive Board members to allow for maximum transparency and openness from participants.
OEC will also have a booth at the Exhibition Hall for conference participants to stop by and talk to them.
After the conference ends, OEC team will compile all participants’ input and present it in their final report to CWPA officers for discussion and determining the organization’s next steps.
National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) Revision
CWPA has been a partner of the NSSE “Experiences with Writing” module on writing. Since the module is due for updates this year, CWPA has partnered with the team in charge of the module to offer two sessions at the Reno conference:
C4 on Monday 7/17 2:15 – 3:30 in Casino Ballroom
A Presentation and Report Session in which they will discuss the current module version, report findings and trends, share recent feedback from institutional users.
H1 on Tuesday 7/18 3:15 – 4:30 in Mandalay 3
An interactive session where participants will review “Experiences with Writing” module existing items and help develop ideas for new content.

If you are a graduate student doing research on WPA work, this session is for you. CWPA Graduate Research Award Committee Chair will discuss the award submission guidelines and benefits of submitting work for the award. The 2022 and 2023 award winners will share their experiences with the award. All three of them will answer your questions and offer specific guidance on submitting your work for the next award cycle.
