For participants in the Development of Writing Items on the NSSE:
I'm transferring some notes we've exchanged via email to this blog so everything will be in one place.
Thanks very much for attending Saturday's NSSE/WPA working session, and thanks for agreeing to continue this work through this week and beyond. Shirley took careful notes and forwarded them to me; they're pasted in below.
I'm pleased to pass along this message from the Asessment Institute leaders.--Shirley
Dear WPA Assessment Institute Participants,
We (your facilitators) look forward to working with you next week! To maximize our day together, we thought it would be helpful to do a bit of reading before the institute takes place. So we've started a blog on Wordpress (http://wpaassessment.wordpress.com) to enable us to connect.
Dear Fellow CWPA Members:
Yesterday, July1, was an important day for the organization as we made a transition in leadership. Joe Janangelo (Loyola University Chicago) moved into the position of WPA President and Linda Adler-Kassner (Eastern Michigan University) began her term as WPA Vice-President. Three new Executive Board members began their three-year terms: Jeff Andelora (Mesa Community college), Eli Goldblatt (Temple University), and Barbara L’Eplattenier (University of Arkansas-Little Rock).
I'm pasting in a note from the 2007 WPA Summer Workshop leaders.--Shirley
There are still a few seats left for the WPA Summer Workshop (held the Sunday-Wednesday, July 8-11) before next month's conference (July 12-15). For full details please see http://www.wpacouncil.org/conference2007
Susan Miller Cochran and I have been working hard to construct a thoughtful and useful agenda -- see below.
