WPA Professional Development and Writing Program Development Mini-Workshop Series at WPA Conference

I'm pleased to announce the WPA professional development and writing program development mini-workshop series for the 2007 WPA conference. The workshop topics and leaders are listed at this node: http://wpacouncil.org/2007confmini

Mini-workshops run from 75 minutes to 150 minutes and all are scheduled during the concurrent session time slots at the conference on Friday and Saturday.

Check with your dean or department head to see if professional development funds are available to support your participation in one or more of these mini-workshops at the conference this summer.

Vote in a poll about a workshop on writing a program self-study at the WPA Summer Conference

Great news!  Ed White and Doug Hesse have agreed to co-lead a workshop on writing a program self-study at the 2007 WPA Summer Conference in Tempe this coming July.

The workshop would be held during a concurrent session time slot and would be open to all interested participants.  The session would be officially sponsored by the WPA Consultant-Evaluator Service, but it would cover writing and using program self-studies for a variety of contexts, not just in preparation for a WPA C-E visit.

As President of WPA, I was invited to participate in the CCCC featured session panel "Who Represents English Studies? Whom Does English Studies Represent? A Public Conversation" (Session I). I'm pasting in a copy of my prepared remarks here. I'd appreciate hearing from any who want to take the conversation further.
