Instructor/Assistant Professor of Rhetoric, Language, and Culture at Univ of Hartford
The Department of Rhetoric, Language, and Culture at the University of Hartford invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time position to begin September 2007. The initial term of the contract is two years, and the contract is renewable. The department houses both a first-year composition program and an undergraduate degree program (major, minor, and certificate) in rhetoric and professional writing. The department also supports a networked, online computer classroom. We invite applications from candidates well-versed in first-year composition and writing across the curriculum; those with interests in professional writing and/or computer lab administration are particularly encouraged to apply. Minimum requirements are an MA (PhD preferred) in rhetoric and composition or a related field, and evidence of committed and successful teaching. We welcome applicants who have experience using a variety of teaching methods and working in a culturally diverse environment.
The University of Hartford is committed to excellence in undergraduate instruction. The 3/3 teaching load will likely include multiple sections of first-year composition, with the possibility of teaching a course in the major each year.
