James Madison University - Writing Center/Technical Communication

James Madison University seeks candidates for a 10-month full-time instructional faculty appointment in the University Writing Center. Responsibilities include: teaching one course per semester in Technical & Scientific Communication; consulting with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff in the Writing Center; and providing workshops for faculty and students, as necessary. We seek candidates who will actively engage in writing center scholarship.

Required: - Masters or doctoral degree in writing-related studies (technical-professional communication, composition-rhetoric, discourse studies) - College-level teaching experience - Proficiency with online/electronic editing techniques - Document and graphic design skills - Experience or strong interest in teaching with technology, including developing online tutoring

Preferred (any combination of the following): - Writing center experience - Interdisciplinary experience - Experience or interest in Writing Across the Curriculum/Writing in the Disciplines
