English Composition Faculty

STARTING DATE: August 18, 2008
POSITION: Regular full-time faculty
(subject to the 2008/2009 budget plan)
Full-time faculty at FRCC teach 15 credit hours per semester and are expected to assume instructional leadership roles, which may include hiring and mentoring part-time instructors, developing curriculum, scheduling classes, student advising, contributing to department, campus, college and community initiatives, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, assessment of student academic achievement, and other college activities as assigned by the chair and dean.
Required: Master’s Degree in English or related subject, with a minimum of 18 graduate-level semester hours in Rhetoric or Composition.
Preferred: Two to three years (full-time equivalent) recent teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Experience teaching english courses, using computer-aided classrooms, and on-line teaching. Ph.D. and leadership experience desirable.
SALARY: Upper $30s to mid $40s based on education and experience. This is a 9 month position paid out over 12 months.
