First-year writing

The Yeshiva College English Department is in the process of re-thinking its composition program- and its first-year experience in general.

We're already piloting a course in which we pair composition with another subject, but we're also interested in themed composition classes, as well as having students take a writing course in their discipline. We'd like to invite outside speakers who've had experience with any or all of the above. Has anyone got ideas on good people for this?

Themed Composition

Hi Johanna,

I don't know what you have in mind, but LaGuardia uses Learning Communities extensively in its COMP I program. I can send you some of our materials, if you'd like.
