Lecturer in Writing and Rhetoric, University Writing Program, University of Florida
The University Writing Program at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for three lectureships to begin August 16, 2019. The positions are nine-month, non-tenure accruing appointments with the possibility of renewal and an opportunity for advancement in UF’s lecturer track. The University Writing Program is a thriving, independent unit offering a wide range of writing-intensive courses in areas such as themed critical thinking and writing, discipline-focused writing, and professional writing. The positions require a PhD in Composition and Rhetoric or in a related content area.
Experience teaching in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Sustainability and Environmental Rhetoric, Strategic Communication and Public Writing, Scientific Writing, or Media Studies. Also preferred is a strong interest in experiential learning, such as directing internships, leading study abroad courses, or pursuing community-based outreach. The teaching assignment is 4/3 with possible course release for the development of significant experiential learning initiatives. The salary is competitive and includes a full benefits package.
