Writing Across the Curriculum Director
Auburn University Montgomery is the metropolitan campus of Auburn University, a land-grant institution. Located in the state capital, the University serves a diverse student body of approximately 5,400 students and has 575 faculty and staff in five academic schools: Business, Education, Liberal Arts, Nursing, and Sciences. Montgomery supports cultural attractions including the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, and the Rosa Parks Library and Museum, among others.
The University is seeking applications for a Writing Across the Curriculum Director to provide leadership for a new WAC program. The position will be available fall 2008. The Director will report to the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs and will have the primary responsibility of developing and administering this new program.
The position is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty appointment in the appropriate academic department with a reduced teaching load in order to develop and direct the new WAC program. Faculty rank will be dependent upon the applicant’s record in teaching, scholarship, and service. The position requires a doctoral degree with experience in the area of writing initiatives. In addition to directing the WAC program, there will be the continued opportunity and expectation for teaching, scholarship, and service.
