Writing Program Administrator-Auburn University
Auburn University seeks a Writing Program Administrator (WPA) to direct its new writing program. The WPA will develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive writing program with an emphasis on writing in a wide variety of disciplines. Auburn University is a land-grant institution and this program is an initiative of the University’s Strategic Plan. The WPA will be expected to work closely with faculty across the curriculum in developing writing experiences in the disciplines, implement faculty development resources and programming and foster an enthusiastic environment for writing across the campus.
The position is a full-time, 12-month tenure-track appointment in the appropriate academic department. The WPA will report to the Office of the Provost. The position requires a doctoral degree in an appropriate field and experience with writing in the disciplines or writing across the curriculum programs, writing pedagogy and writing program administration. Applicants must have a scholarly publication record demonstrating academic achievement sufficient to merit appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate/Full Professor and a demonstrated record of academic teaching excellence. The ideal candidate should also have excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative interactions with faculty in diverse disciplines. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
