New National Conversation on Writing Site Now Available: Please join us as an advocate for writing

The Network for Media Action, a WPA initiative designed to help us shape and respond to media depictions of writing and writing instruction, is pleased to announce that its newly re-designed National Conversation on Writing (NCoW) site is now available at   This site provides WPAs and other literacy educators with multi-media materials that can help you and your writing program become part of national efforts to demonstrate the importance of writing—and to advocate for continued support for the efforts of literacy educators on campuses and in surrounding communities.

The attached document is a guide to many of the rich resources that have been compiled by both the Network for Media Action and its National Conversation on Writing initiative. We hope you’ll take a few moments to browse this document and follow some of its links to those resources. And, if you like what you find there, please feel free to download this document and pass it along to other interested individuals.

Most of all, we hope you will join the Network for Media Action’s efforts to stimulate a much-needed national conversation on writing.   Together, we can change the story about writing.

If we can supply you with any further information, or if you’d like to become part of our efforts, please feel free to contact any of the individuals at the email addresses supplied on the attached document.

And let us know (via the listserv as well as the NCoW site) what you think, how you’re using these resources, and what more we can do to make these resources as useful as possible.
