Writing Program Visiting Lectureship in TESOL/Writing

The Writing Program at Wellesley College invites applications for a full-time, 2-year, renewable visiting lectureship in writing with specialization in ESOL to begin Fall 2010.   Job responsibilities include teaching first-year composition in our interdisciplinary, theme-based writing program; providing ESL tutoring for students; and providing English-language workshops and support for writing instructors, tutors, and faculty in the disciplines.   Teaching load is 5 courses annually, of which one is weekly one-on-one tutoring hours.  PhD in TESOL, composition/rhetoric, applied linguistics, or related degree is strongly preferred, as is experience teaching writing to a multilingual population.  We are especially interested in candidates with expertise and interest in writing across the curriculum, writing in the sciences or social sciences, and/or public speaking, though our courses cover a range of innovative subject matter.
