Assistant Professor, Oral and Written Communication

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences ( is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position of communication to commence in August 2010.  Responsibilities include overseeing the Writing/Oral Communication Skills Center, development of communication skills throughout the College’s curricula, teaching in introductory communications courses, and offering electives in an area of interest.  The successful candidate will also be expected to develop an active research program and provide service to the College and profession.  It is anticipated that this position will be filled at the Assistant Professor level but well qualified candidates may be considered for advanced rank.   


A PhD in composition, rhetoric, applied communication or closely related field is required.  Experience in a writing center or similar learning environment is also required.  Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience, experience teaching in a science oriented environment, and/or an interest in health communication.
