Director of Composition

Missouri State University, Department of English seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor of English to serve as director of composition. Duties include teaching two courses in writing, composition theory, or writing pedagogy each semester; supervising graduate teaching assistants; and developing the department's composition curriculum. Requirements include a Ph.D. in rhetoric or composition theory by the time of appointment; record of effective teaching; publications or promise of publications; and active participation in professional organizations. Experience or documented interest in composition curriculum development and composition program administration strongly preferred. Rank and salary depend on experience and publications.
