The Department of English at Penn State University seeks to hire a one-year, full-time, fixed-term appointment as Lecturer in English, to begin Fall 2010. Responsibilities will include providing leadership and vision for pedagogical initiatives involving new media and digital technologies. Masters degree in a related field required. Candidates should be qualified to teach both resident and distance courses at the undergraduate level and teacher training courses at the graduate level that focus on the curricular integration of digital technologies. The position involves not only teaching and training but also designing and managing online learning spaces and assessing the effectiveness of online courses and initiatives. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to help define this challenging new position and to collaborate with faculty and graduate students on meaningful intellectual projects.
