The English Department at the University of Texas at El Paso invites applicants for an advanced assistant or associate professor position in Rhetoric and Writing Studies. We are particularly interested in candidates who can enhance our focus in cross-cultural and global rhetorics. Other desirable areas of expertise include second language writing, visual and digital rhetorics, new media, and research methodologies. A strong publication record and research agenda required. The successful candidate will teach courses in our PhD program in Rhetoric and Composition, as well as classes on the MA and undergraduate levels. We also offer opportunities for professional leadership and the pursuit of extramural funding. Situated on the U.S.-Mexico border, UTEP is the only doctoral research intensive university in the country with a predominantly Mexican-American student body.
