Visiting Composition Instructor at Tennessee Tech U
VISITING INSTRUCTOR / VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: Department of English and Communications, Tennessee Tech University (Cookeville, TN).
One or more positions available.
Full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track appointment to begin August 2011. This one-year contract may be renewed for up to three years, depending on department need and funding.
QUALIFICATIONS: MA or PhD in English (MA required for rank of Visiting Instructor, PhD required for rank of Visiting Assistant Professor). Graduate coursework in composition pedagogy. Evidence of recent excellence in composition instruction. Demonstrated commitment to teaching first-year composition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Teach four sections each semester in first-year composition sequence (ENGL 1010 and 1020: Writing I and II) and perform departmental duties (e.g., committee participation).
