Visiting Assistant Professor in Writing

The Position: The Department of Writing invites applications for a non-tenure-track, visiting assistant professor position for the 2011-2012 academic year. The successful candidate must have experience teaching college writing and should be a specialist in rhetoric and composition, computers and writing, or closely related field. Duties include teaching first-year composition with the possibility of also teaching upper-level courses in the department. The successful candidate should have the capacity to teach, research, advise, and provide leadership, and may also have a secondary emphasis in linguistics or creative writing.

Minimum Qualifications: College writing teaching experience and advanced degree in Rhetoric and Composition or closely related field. PhD preferred. ABD will also be strongly considered.
