Associate Professor, Technical Communication, Arizona State University
The Faculty of Technical Communication in the School of Letters and Sciences on the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University seeks an associate professor to direct its program in Technical Communication. Teaching load is 2/2 with significant research agenda. Teaching opportunities are at upper-division undergraduate and some graduate levels. Service is required appropriate to rank and position.
PhD in technical communication, rhetoric and composition, or related discipline; college-level teaching experience and mentoring appropriate to rank; recognized body of scholarship in technical communication/rhetoric/composition/writing
appropriate to rank, established record in curriculum development for technical communication/rhetoric/composition/writing
relevant to upper-division undergraduate level; and evidence of department, college, community and/or professional service appropriate to rank.
Experience teaching upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses in technical communication; experience and scholarship in technical communication program design and assessment; experience and scholarship with online teaching and learning, multimedia writing curricula, medical rhetoric, and/or workplace writing curricula; demonstrated commitment to community engagement, placebased inquiry, and useinspired research consistent with mission of a New American University.
