Grant Writer

Dickinson State University seeks personable, detail and research oriented candidates for the position of Grant Writer. Reporting to the President, the Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, planning, preparing, submitting, and monitoring external grant applications to support the ongoing success of DSU. Duties will be: to identify and research funding opportunities and alternative resources that address the University’s stated mission and goals; to collaborate with college faculty and staff to determine funding needs; to develop, write, and submit original grant proposals and applications; to maintain centralized files for externally funded programs and other grant activities; to act as a liaison with private and public funding agencies and organizations; and to perform other duties as assigned. Exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills; good computer software skills; experience researching and evaluating appropriate grant funding resources, and the ability to meet deadlines and work independently are essential for success in this position. Effective management, organizational, budgeting, and planning skills are also required. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of successfully demonstrated grant writing experience. A Master’s degree and experience in higher education grant writing are preferred qualifications.
