Visiting Assistant Professor at Bloomfield College
The Division of Humanities invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Writing for the academic year 2014/15, to begin in August 2014.
The division seeks a dynamic full-time visiting faculty member with a passion for undergraduate education to teach in the first-year writing program. Normal teaching load is three courses a semester, but the successful candidate will receive one course release during the year to research and begin planning ways the College can build its relationship with local school districts through writing programs such as dual-credit, teacher training, and early college.
Candidates should have an earned a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field; ABD considered. Teaching excellence is the first priority at Bloomfield College, so candidates should have a strong record of teaching first-year writing; experience teaching basic writing, first-generation students, and/or pre-college students is a plus.
Applicants must electronically submit (PDF format preferred) a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation with contact information by Jan. 30, 2014, to FirstYearWriting@bloomfield.edu. Official graduate transcripts will be required of applicants accepted for an interview.
