The Division of Humanities invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Writing, to begin in August 2015. The division seeks a dynamic faculty member with a passion for undergraduate education. The normal teaching load is three courses per semester, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach most of his/her courses in the first-year writing program. There will also be regular opportunities to teach upper-level writing courses.
Candidates should have an earned a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field; ABD considered. Teaching excellence is the first priority at Bloomfield College, so candidates should have a strong record of teaching first-year writing and rhetoric; experience teaching basic writing, first-generation students, and/or pre-college students is a plus.
