Assistant Professor, English Education, UTEP

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Department of English seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English Education, beginning September 1, 2015.   Primary responsibilities will be in undergraduate English Education and in the Master of Arts in Teaching in English.  Desired specialties include one or more of the following: sociocultural pedagogies, English Language Learners, K-12 composition methods, multimodal literacy, literacy education and assessment, children’s literature, young adult literature, and English Education research methodology. The successful applicant will be joining an English Education program that serves elementary education students, secondary education majors, and graduate students in a flourishing M.A.T. program.   Ph.D. in English Education or closely related field in hand is required by September 1, 2015.   Washington Monthly magazine has ranked UTEP among the Top 10 U.S. research universities, and for the third consecutive year, #1 nationally for fostering student social mobility.
