Assistant Professor of English - Developmental Writing (214UC9603)

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College, located in Blue Ash, Ohio, seeks applications for the following position: a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English specializing in developmental writing. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees, with an enrollment of approximately 5900 students. We are seeking a candidate to teach four developmental writing courses per semester. Responsibilities for this position include: 1) teaching courses in the developmental writing sequence; 2) participating in program assessment and curriculum development activities; 3) participating in department, college, and university service; 4) engaging in professional and scholarly activities.

Position Qualification: The department seeks a developmental writing specialist with a doctorate in English, Composition and Rhetoric, or a closely related field. While a doctorate degree is preferred, ABD candidates making significant progress towards the terminal degree will be considered. Candidates must have at least three years of college teaching experience in developmental writing.

Ideal Qualifications: doctorate in English, Composition and Rhetoric, or a closely related field with a specialization in developmental writing education. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching students who are learning English as an additional language, students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and undergraduate students at an open-admissions college with varying degrees of preparation for college-level work.
