Two tenure-track positions at University of Alaska Anchorage
The University of Alaska Anchorage announces two tenure-track positions in composition/rhetoric at the level of Assistant Professor. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in English (completed by 1 August 2007) with concentrated coursework in composition and rhetoric. Specialization in one of the following areas is required: composition theory, rhetorical theory, computers and composition, professional writing, writing center pedagogy, visual rhetoric, directing internships, supervising teaching assistants, TESOL, linguistics, secondary education. (Additional competency in another of the above areas preferred.) Also required: experience teaching composition and working with diverse populations, as well as commitment to scholarship in the candidateâ€™s area of specialty.
Responsibilities involve teaching six courses per year (ranging from freshman composition to graduate courses); engaging in scholarship; and performing service at the department, college, and university levels.
