WPA Journal Welcomes New Editorial Team

WPA Journal Welcomes New Editorial Team

The Council of Writing Program Administrators is pleased to announce the appointment of the 2007-2009 Editorial Team for our journal, WPA: Writing Program Administration.

The new Managing Editors are Deirdre Pettipiece (Cheyney University of Pennsylvania), William Macauley, Jr. (The College of Wooster), and Timothy Ray (West Chester University of Pennsylvania). The editorial team officially took the helm this January and will oversee the publication of issue 31.1-2 (Fall/Winter 2007) through issue 33.3 (Spring 2009).

Deirdre Pettipiece is the Director of WAC and Chairperson of Communication and Modern Languages at Cheyney University, and was formerly Writing Program Coordinator and Director of the Writing Center. She has been a member of the Executive Editorial Board for Making Connections. Deirdre will be responsible for Submissions and Editorial Correspondence. William Macauley is Director of the Writing Center at Wooster and is an editor of Open Words: Access and English Studies. Timothy Ray is Assistant Professor of Writing at West Chester University and is currently guest editor and webmaster of College Literature. Tim is the Production Editor. Lori Salem (Temple University) will serve as Co- Book Editor with Jeanne Marie Rose (Penn State Berks), who will join her as Co-Editor in July. The Managing Editors will be assisted by Eli Goldblatt (Temple University) and the large and diverse panel of WPA scholars who serve as the journal’s Editorial Board.

Currently, the new editorial team is working to see issue 30.3 (Spring 2007) through production and will work on completion and production of issues 31.1/2 (Fall 2007) and 31.3 (Spring 2008). Watch for their call for manuscripts for the Fall 2008 issue to be announced soon.

We’re grateful to the outgoing Editorial Team, led by Managing Editors Greg Glau (Arizona State University, Tempe), Duane Roen (Arizona State University, Tempe), and Barry Maid (Arizona State University East) for their work on the journal for the past three years. Under their leadership and management, the journal has gained increasing visibility and importance in the field of composition and rhetoric. In their role as editors, they have also brought a number of important concerns to the attention of the CWPA membership, such as Second Language Writers and Writing Program Administration, the focus of a recent special issue guest edited by Paul Kei Matsuda, Maria Fruit, and Tamara Lee Burton Lamm, Volume 30, Number1/2 (Fall 2006). This issue was mailed to current members at the beginning of January.

If you have not received your copy of the Fall 2006 issue, check to make certain your membership is current by logging in at the website http://wpacouncil.org and checking “my account” or go to this page for more complete instructions: http://wpacouncil.org/membership.
