The University of Nevada, Reno, Department of English announces a tenure-track assistant professor position in composition theory and pedagogy. The successful candidate will join an established English department that offers a Ph.D. emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition and contributes significantly to university writing programs.
Tenure-track faculty who teach and mentor in the graduate program and engage in scholarly research typically teach a 2/2 load.
The minimum qualifications for this position include: a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition, English, or closely allied field completed by August 1, 2016; college-level writing instruction experience; ability to teach advanced writing and writing pedagogy courses; and a developed and continuing research agenda in Composition Studies.
Preferred qualifications for this position include: research and teaching in translingual/cross-cultural rhetorics and writing; peer-reviewed publication in Composition Studies; experience developing and evaluating/assessing writing teachers, courses, curricula and/or programs; working with students at the graduate level; and/or computational research methodologies.
