WPA GO Social at Pappasito's
Our social event was Thursday night at Pappasito's Cantina in the Hilton. Over 100 grad students and faculty attended the event. We also ran a raffle for a load of awesome books, thanks to our publishers who donated: Parlor Press, Utah State University Press, and Bedford/St. Martins. THANK YOU to our CCCC Local Planning Committee (chaired by Abby Koenig) for organizing and hosting this super fun night! You can view snapshots of the party-goers HERE on Facebook.
Mentoring at CCCC (M@Cs): Breakfast and More
Our M@Cs was another rousing success! Over 120 mentors and mentees from 78 different institutions participated in the event. Thank you to the WPA-GO Mentoring Events committee (chaired by Ruth Osorio) for their hard work and dedication. You can view the photos from the M@Cs Breakfast HERE on Facebook.
Our Graduate Committee Meeting
Our GC and ex-officio members also met for our biannual meeting during the conference, where we were able to make some excellent progress on upcoming initiatives and procedures. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements regarding our Vice Chair selection process, the GO's location on the CWPA website, more social media and outreach initiatives, additional advertisement opportunities, some GO swag to be unveiled at CWPA in Raleigh, and more!
WPA-GO on Social Media
As you may already know, our Digital Presence Committee is working hard to share all things GO on social media: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Thanks to all who tagged the GO (@wpa_go) and who utilized the hashtag #wpaGO during the conference!
Finally, attached below is our #4C16 #wpaGO newsletter, which recaps all our Cs events and looks forward to our next big event, the 2016 CWPA Summer Conference in Raleigh. Again, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the GO's presence at CCCC in Houston!
