Assistant/Associate Professor/Rhetoric and Composition at Ball State University

Tenure-track position available August 22, 2008. Specialty open. Responsibilities: teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in rhetoric and composition; direct graduate student research. Future administrative role in department expected. Minimum qualifications: earned doctorate in rhetoric and composition by August 15, 2008; two years of experience in Writing Program administration (may include work in Writing Centers, WAC/WID Programs, National Writing Project, and other related administrative work); record of scholarship: publications and/or presentations in primary area(s) of scholarship; six semesters of college teaching experience.

Preferred qualifications: graduate teaching experience in rhetoric and composition; record of effective teaching; knowledge and experience with Writing Across the Curriculum/Writing in the Disciplines; demonstrated experience in the application of technology to writing instruction; record of research in Writing Program Administration.
