Call for proposals: CWPA session at MLA 2026
Colleagues,
The Council of Writing Program Administrators invites proposals from CWPA Members for 15-minute presentations that analyze how writing program administrators might best act during a time of great disruption of higher education. As an affiliate organization of the Modern Language Association, CWPA has a guaranteed session at the annual MLA convention to be held in Toronto, Canada, in January 2026. The full call for proposals is accessible here.
By March 19, 2025, please send titles, abstracts of not more than 250 words, and complete contact information (name, title, institution, email, phone) to Doug Hesse, CWPA Liaison to MLA, at dhesse@du.edu. A small CWPA group will select speakers based on the quality of proposals and on a desire to include diverse types of institutions, programs, challenges, and issues. Proposals are welcome from any CWPA member. You must additionally be a member of MLA to appear on the program. (You could join after your proposal is accepted.)
Best,
Kelly
