Associate Professor of Writing Studies, University of Michigan
The English Department at the University of Michigan expects to make a tenured appointment in the field of Writing Studies to begin in September 2019. This is a university-year appointment. The successful candidate will serve as the Director of the English Department Writing Program for at least one five-year term. We seek applicants with significant experience in writing program administration and a distinguished publication and teaching record in one or more areas of Writing Studies, possibly including Public and Professional Writing, Writing and Social Justice, the History of Writing, Writing and Critical Race Studies, Cultural Rhetorics, Digital Rhetoric, Translingualism, and/or Critical Literacy Studies.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, statement of current and future research plans, statement of teaching philosophy and experience, evidence of teaching excellence, and writing sample by September 28th.
