Writing Program Director Advanced Assistant or Associate Professor of English/Writing Program Director Rochester Institute of Technology
Tenure-track position beginning July 2008. Required qualifications: PhD in Composition and Rhetoric, college teaching experience, and administrative experience in WPA. Composition is a foundational component of RIT’s core curriculum and a strategic part of the Institute’s mission. We seek candidates who approach composition and rhetoric with fresh critical and theoretical perspectives. The Writing Program Director shapes and implements the composition program and teaches composition and upper-division courses. The Director’s duties include scheduling courses in the first-year writing program, hiring and supervising part-time faculty, and coordinating the composition program. The teaching load is one course per quarter. In addition to a strong research agenda, the successful candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
